Window & Gutter Cleaning Services * Towcester & surrounding villages *

Anderson Fox

We are a small business specialising in window cleaning, gutter cleaning and fascia cleaning. We cover Towcester, Silverstone & some surrounding villages. We are fully insured and aim to provide a professional, friendly and reliable service. We always make contact the day before a clean and we do not require you to have a contract or direct debit agreement to use our service. We use an electric vehicle and so we leave no nasty exhaust fumes in your street or oil spills on your driveway!
We use only filtered water with no additives or harsh chemicals - this ensures that your paintwork or uPVC remains in good condition and no residue or smears are left on your glass. We use a light weight pole and brush system that delivers an excellent clean for both the window frames and panes even when space is tight or where windows are hard to access.
Our pricing is based on the time required to clean your property but also factors such as building height, complexity and access. If you have a conservatory, 3-storey windows, velux roof lights or restricted access this may require a slightly longer clean. You can pay for your clean with cash or by bank transfer.

The best way to think of window cleaning is to compare it to cleaning your teeth! If you clean your window frames, sills and glass regularly, this will prevent the build up of insect residue, cobwebs, dust and grime. In the long term, this will significantly reduce staining & discolouration (particularly for white uPVC) and will keep your window vents and drains clear. If you opt for very infrequent cleans, be aware that an isolated clean now and again - akin to a frantic brush of your teeth before a trip to the dentist, won't deliver the same outcome as regular cleaning.
The answer is of course, yes! However, please note:
1) Conservatory cleans are typically undertaken as a side windows clean in isolation or with a conservatory roof clean. In most cases, the sides of a conservatory may be cleaned quickly and efficiently together with house windows. However, conservatory roof cleans tend to be undertaken 2-3 times per year and require significantly more time and water. Where a conservatory roof has not been cleaned for a very long time i.e. where green moss and algae may be present, cleaning may require a significant amount of time (2-3 hours) and this would be considered a specialised one-off cleaning job.
2) Roof lights or Velux windows must be cleaned regularly - if they are left uncleaned for a long time, it may take several cleans for them to restore - a first or one-off clean will often give poor results initially. This is because cleaning them from the ground (via an extendable pole system) has limitations in terms of the pressure that can be applied to remove algae (and similar residue build-up) which tends to be baked onto the glass by the sun. Regular cleaning will improve your internal light and avoid the roof light becoming unsightly.
It is recommended to have your windows cleaned every 4-8 weeks depending on your location. Homes near large trees, busy roads, crops, construction sites and other factors such as the presence of birds and other animals are likely to require more frequent cleaning. If you have uPVC windows, regular cleaning will prevent the internal drains from clogging with debris and will significantly reduce staining from insects and spider activity.
it is important to periodically arrange gutter cleaning for your home. Gutters tend to be blocked by a combination of leaves, moss, branches and debris carried by birds. If gutters become fully or partially blocked, rain water will overflow and may damage wood sections, fascias and in the worst scenario, may enter your roof. Whilst many people believe that Autumn is the best time to have a gutter clean, the reality is that most blocked gutters are caused by composted leaves and debris - this can happen at any time of the year and sometimes many months after Autumn. If you notice drips, staining on walls or debris in your gutters, it is best to arrange a gutter clean. If your gutters have grills or gutter guards, you should consider if they allow the gutter channel to be adequately cleaned. In most cases, they restrict access and if you undertake some basic googling, you will see that many people remove them. We can provide a price to remove gutter guards as part of a routine gutter clean.
This is a common question. The reality is that a window clean is a thorough clean of both the glass and the frame to remove grime, debris, insects etc.. If it is raining during cleaning this will not compromise the cleaning action and a clean window will allow the rain to run off more effectively. In the UK, windows are frequently exposed to rain and bad weather and so the exact timing of the clean is less important when considered against the value of maintaining your windows.
Our window cleaning equipment allows us to reach heights of around 10-metres for both window and gutter cleaning - this should cover most buildings up to 3 storeys, loft conversions and most Velux windows. We can also use a ladder to access hard-to-reach windows, roof lights and for lantern roofs.
This may happen with UPVC windows where they have drainage vents at the bottom of the window or the top of the sill - you may see a rectangular aperture by the dirt. This happens very occasionally where cleaning has dislodged debris from inside the window frame and it has leaked out within minutes of the window being cleaned. We are happy to revisit and address this type of situation. Alternatively, simply take a cloth or kitchen roll and wipe the vent area. On the plus side, the drain away of such debris is important to keep your windows drainways clear and able to transit rainwater away from your frame.
From time to time, we will offer new customers a chance to experience our service for the first time at a fixed fee. This offer is intended for customers looking for a new and regular window cleaner. This offer is available for properties with up to 12 windows, two entry doors and one set of patio or bi-fold doors. Conservatory sides, roof lights, garden rooms and orangery type structures are not included in this offer, but we will aim to give a discounted price for these areas upon arrival to your home. We will give a discount for any first clean verses our regular and repeat cost for window cleaning. The following exclusions apply to this offer:
1) Where the windows are very dirty or where it is apparent that the windows have not been cleaned in a long time;
2) For properties rented out via Airbnb or similar holiday let scheme;
3) Properties designated as Commercial, Listed or Heritage (Including lead panel windows);
4) Where access is restricted in terms of window position, vehicles, overgrown trees and shrubs or there are significant limitations to access to the side or rear of the property;
5) Where a discounted clean has previously been received by a homeowner;
6) Where we are asked to clean up to the limitations of this offer on a substantially larger property.
Whilst it is always our intention to demonstrate our service to new clients at a discounted rate, we retain the right to decline to undertake a window, fascia or gutter clean at our sole discretion.
From time to time, we will offer new customers a chance to experience our gutter clean service for the first time at a fixed fee. This offer is available for properties up to 2 storey / 4-bedrooms and garage. The guttering must be accessible from the ground without obstruction.
For larger properties, listed buildings, outbuildings, 3-storey height or where a conservatory, lantern roof or other structures hinder access to the gutters, we will aim to give a discounted price but we will not be able to cap the work at the offer price. The following exclusions apply to this offer:
1) Larger properties (5-bed+), listed buildings, outbuildings, 3-storey height or where a conservatory, lantern roof or other structures hinder access to the gutters
2) For properties rented out via Airbnb or similar holiday let scheme;
3) Properties designated as Commercial, Listed or Heritage (Including lead panel windows);
4) Where we are asked to clean up to the limitations of this offer on a substantially larger property.

A 'catch-up clean' is a term used to describe a clean for; Windows that have not been cleaned in a long time; window frames which may have moss or green growth on them or partial / heavy staining from insects and exposure to weather.; glass that may be excessively dirty or dusty; window sills with green growth, moss, or debris on them.
In these situations, we will quote an increased cleaning charge (verses a regular clean for such windows) - the fee may be 25% or so higher than a regular clean.
It should be noted that 'catch-up cleans' can be affected by the following issues which may require a further periodic clean to give the best results:
1) Window frame upper and sill vents can release waste and debris for many minutes after the clean (as water exits blocked vents and carries debris out of the window frames). This may need to be wiped clear by the homeowner as it is likely to occur several minutes after the clean or possibly after rainfall following a clean.
2) Heavy staining and green growth may not always be fully removed with a cleaning brush. In these situations, a deep clean of the window may be required and this would be a different type of specialist clean. In these situations, we would recommend the use of non-caustic chemical products, warm water and very localised cleaning of the window stains.
3) 'Catch-up cleans' can use a significant amount of our filtered water - as a result, we can only deliver these cleans with prior notice or when we have adequate water available for your clean and other booked cleans for the day.
4) It is always best to follow a catch-up clean with a further clean within 8-weeks to restore the windows to a condition that may then be maintained by regular cleaning at a frequency of no longer than 12-weeks.
Whilst it is always our intention to deliver a great service to new clients, we retain the right to decline to undertake a 'catch-up clean' at our sole discretion.
